Why even create devos for your church?
Part of the role of a pastor is shepherding and teaching the flock. Your ministry needs biblical literacy and spiritual habits to thrive in life. Teaching and developing habits is one of the most effective uses of modern technology. Instead of simply posting on Instagram or YouTube (where there's a bunch of distractions, competition and noise), try sharing intentional devos to help your ministry grow together.
We'll break it down for you step-by-step and include a bit more info on YouTube.
1. Create a FREE Notion account
Step one is to head to notion.so and sign up for a free account.
2. Duplicate Our Template
Once you have your account set up, you can head to our weekly devo example and duplicate it. This will put a copy into your Notion account that you can edit and tweak for your own church. Try uploading your logo, maybe a little welcome video, you get the point.
3. Create Your First Devo
Now, here's the hard work (and where you come in). Write the devo! Or use someone else's, that's find too! As long as you're intentionally leading your people into more understanding, and faith. That's what matters!
4. Publish & Share
Lastly, hit 'Publish'. Now it's live! You can copy that link and send it to your people. Each week (or day, or month) you can come back here to write a new devo in Notion. Transfer the old one to the archives and your people will be able to read the new one or catch up on old devos.
5. Advanced - Auto Remind People Each Week
Here's a pro tip. Most people need to be nudged with a text, email or notification to take action. You can use a service like Clearstream (not sponsored) to automatically send this link to your people each week when you create a new devo. There's a ton of communication tools out there. Some use text messages, some use email. If you need help selecting a tool or have a super limited budget, reach out! I'd love to help you get the right tool for the job.
More Questions? Let's chat.
Obviously, this is just one example of that you can do with Notion. There so much more, and so many more tools. So, if you want any help diving in to how Notion, automation or any other modern tools can help your disciple your people, reach out! I'd love to chat (and there's no charge).
